Fig Tree

Restored cottage, originally built as a pioneer dwelling in 1915. It has a bedroom with a double bed, kitchen and bathroom with bath and toilet and there is an outdoor shower. Warm water is obtained from a geyser and there are a fridge and hot-plate, all served by gas; lighting is obtained from paraffin lamps and candles.

A separate adjacent building contains a bedroom with 2 single beds and an en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet. Bed linen supplied. Both buildings are north-facing and also border on the historic furrow, along which some old pepper trees provide shade on the veranda and a barbecue area. From everywhere there is a superb view of the river and mountains. A separate, nearby, log cabin, with two beds, is situated in a romantic spot between trees, next to the furrow.
